Senior Portraits That Feel Like You
LOCATION OPTIONS
1. Urban & Edgy (City Sessions)
Think North Loop, downtown Minneapolis, St. Paul, or Dinkytown. These areas offer bold textures—brick walls, alleyways, staircases, rooftops, and graffiti—to give your portraits a modern, fashion-forward edge.
2. Natural & Peaceful (Park/Nature Sessions)
Locations like the Peace Garden near Lake Harriet give you that soft, nature-inspired feel. Think flowers, tall grasses, winding paths, and golden light filtering through the trees.
3. Best of Both (Only with 1hr/1.5hr Sessions)
Can’t decide? Let’s do both! We’ll blend urban grit with natural beauty to capture your full range.
What to Wear (and Bring)
Clothing
Bring 2–3 outfits you love. One casual, one elevated (like what you’d wear to a fancy dinner), and maybe something playful in between. Avoid logos and big graphics—this is your moment, not a brand’s.
If you’re buying something new, try it on ahead of time to make sure it fits your vibe.
Color & Pattern
Don’t shy away from bright colors or patterns (think florals, stripes, or plaid)—they add energy and dimension to your photos. Just balance with at least one solid-colored piece for visual harmony.
Hair
A fresh cut? Great—but schedule it about a month ahead to avoid any hair-regret. If you’re planning to have it styled for your shoot, bring clips, bobby pins, or product to also capture a few shots with your everyday look.
Makeup
Professional makeup can boost confidence and even out skin tones for the camera. If you’re doing your own, keep it natural and polished. The goal is to highlight what’s already there—not to reinvent. Minor blemishes? No stress—I’ve got you in post!
Accessories
Accessories can elevate your look—think hats, scarves, jackets, jewelry. Just keep it simple; you want to enhance, not distract.
Props
Love to dance? Bring your ballet shoes. Guitarist? Strum a few chords. Swimmer? Let’s shoot by the pool. Make your props part of the story, not just a background detail.
Style & Setting
If you’re into specific themes, bring it up! Here are a few popular directions:
Outdoorsy: Fields, woods, flowers, water
Urban: Streets, buildings, stairways, bold lines
Sporty: Uniforms, fields, courts, the pool
Editorial/Fashion: Chic outfits, dramatic light, creative posing

Who to Bring
Many seniors bring a parent along (they’re the ultimate hype team), but you’re also welcome to bring a friend—just no more than two people total. Pick someone who will keep you calm, confident, and laughing—not
