Boomer is 1!
It's unbelievably hard to believe. This time last year, we were in la-la land cuddling a sweet smelling, sleepy, eats-like-a-champ, snorting-in-his-sleep newborn. Yes, I did say "snorting in his sleep". They do! At least, my kids did. Noisy creatures those innocent baby humans.
Anyway, here we are again, on the other side of that first year. Once here, you wonder where it all went. Here before us is a independent, easy-going, joyful little boy we won't be able to call "baby" much longer. (No, not because there is another one coming, but because he's turning into a real kid.)
Here's a couple of photos from the past year. The 1st couple were shot with our dinky point & shoot, but with such a sweet subject it hardly makes a difference.
This one is titled "Sweet Lips." Just kidding. Kinda.
"Blue Eyes & Bubbles: The Spit Kind"
"Toothless Grins Make My Momma Weak in the Knees"
"I Trust These Hands, Even If They Look Like They Belong To An 80 Year Old"
"Vitamin D Baby"
"Cirque de Swing"
"Grass: It's Not Just For Mowing"
"Cheezy Grin=Happy Birthday Brother!"
"S'Ok Ladies, There's Enough of These Cheeks For Everyone"
"Just TRY To Say No To These Eyes"
And the profound yet simple: "Cake"
Oh Buddy Boy, we are so honored to have been chosen to be your parents. You bring a fresh new bright light into our days, and we thank you for all of it. The undiscerning laughter, sweet open-mouthed kisses, teasing grins, coy playfulness, and your unashamed preference for Mommy and Daddy. You also make a great live doll for your sister, and she is thankful for that.
We are so very excited to watch you grow into the boy you will be. Undoubtedly one who will make this world better simply by being in it. We can however, wait. Take your time Little Boy, savor, explore, seek and enjoy.
We love you,
Mommy & Daddy
